Thanks for all the Wonderful Entries

As the Bon Jovi World “Lost Highway” tour winds down we want to thank everyone who participated in the contest. There were many fantastic entries and it was a pleasure seeing them all.

Even the greatest bands in the world would be nothing without the support of their fans, and Bon Jovi really appreciates the loving attention they’ve received from everyone. It was great to experience the enthusiasm and support that you all provided.

The contest is now closed but you still have time to enter your photos in the Flickr Mosaic. Upload you pictures of your town, your friends, family, pets, and be part of the poster that will be a great keepsake of the tour.

Thanks again for all your great work!

More Video Please

We wanted to get the word out to people doing videos for this contest to please use video clips, and not still images. Too many people are doing stills, and its important to understand that if you want to win the contest, you need to having moving images.

These videos will play on large concert screens. It is much more dynamic and interesting if things are happening in the shots. Still images come off like postcards. We want a fun feeling to go with the song.

So please put video shots in your contest entries.

Thank you.

Press Release

BON JOVI CALLING ON FANS TO CELEBRATE THEIR HOMETOWNS DURING THEIR LOST HIGHWAY WORLD TOUR

Bon Jovi Loves My Town! Launches with User-Generated Fan Videos Competing for Chance to Be Featured on Band’s World Tour

(January 24, 2008) – For more than two decades, superstars Bon Jovi have rocked their way through countless towns from coast to coast, year after year, before a staggering 32 million fans worldwide.  Along the way, the band has grown to appreciate and interact with their hordes of fans in each unique place, and they pay homage to every city and every one of those fans on their energetic new tune, “I Love This Town,” from the group’s #1 smash 2007 album, Lost Highway.  To visually capture that song’s special feeling, the band is launching the Bon Jovi Loves My Town! contest, whereby fans can create and upload their own user-generated videos to http://www.bonjovilovesmytown.com for an incredible chance to be a part of Bon Jovi’s ongoing, globetrotting Lost Highway Tour.  Videos that are selected--by both a panel of judges and the fans themselves--will be incorporated into the multi-million-dollar, big-screen video presentation of the song during the tour’s shows.

Bon Jovi is urging fans in every one of its upcoming tour markets to get creative and film short videos that show why they love their hometown—the people, places, icons and scenery that make it a special place.  Submitted videos, which can contain anything except previously copyrighted material, will be hosted at http://www.youtube.com/bonjovilovesmytown, judged by an editing team, and voted on by the fans themselves.  Multiple videos will be chosen and portions will be showcased in an ever-changing feature during Bon Jovi’s performances of “I Love This Town”—concerts that will be seen by thousands of fellow Bon Jovi fans across the globe.  In addition, one lucky grand prize winner will receive two tickets to a Bon Jovi concert in their hometown, which they will enjoy from the stage.  Meanwhile, ten second-place winners will get a signed copy of the band’s Lost Highway CD.

This isn’t the first time BON JOVI has enlisted the creative input from the band’s fans. The 1988 single “Bad Medicine” rocketed to #1 on the Hot 100 Billboard Chart with much help from the success of its music video, which featured footage caught by winning fans on hand-held cameras. One of two versions shot for the track, the version featuring late comedian Sam Kinison still remains a fan favorite to this day. Well ahead of its time, Bon Jovi’s approach to such a shoot was considered groundbreaking at the time, and helped usher in a new era in video and television production.

Bon Jovi’s Lost Highway World Tour kicked off last fall with a sold-out, 10-night stand at the grand opening of The Prudential Center in the band’s home state of New Jersey.  The kick-off event became the #1 Grossing event in 2007 and the #6 Grossing event “of all time” in North America, as reported by Pollstar.  The tour’s 38-date, 2008 U.S. leg runs from February 18th in Omaha through May 1st in Atlanta.  See below for full tour details.

Bon Jovi has set the bar for more than two decades as one of the most successful rock bands in the world.  Globally, they have sold more than 120 million albums and performed more than 2,500 concerts in over 50 countries for more than 32 million fans.  Their latest album, the Nashville-inspired Lost Highway, was released June 19, 2007, debuted at #1 around the world and includes the hits songs “Lost Highway” and “(You Want To) Make a Memory.” The band’s 2005 album, Have a Nice Day, featured the Grammy-Award winning song, “Who Says You Can’t Go Home,” and fueled one of the top-selling tours of 2005.
